A Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) process is a vital component of all quality assurance and quality control in responsible food testing laboratories. This includes a set of principles that provides the framework within which the analytical procedures are planned, performed, monitored, reported, and archived. The practices are applicable in all aspects of a laboratory including; implementing, validating, and maintaining laboratory compliance. This presentation will outline the basic principles of GLP toward establishing confidence in reported data with a particular focus on -Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Statistical procedures for data evaluation, Instrumentation and method validation, reagent/materials certification, analyst certification, laboratory facilities certification, sample tracking, documentation and maintenance of records and accountability.
