Many people are switching to a vegan diet because they believe that this diet is healthier. This is because the vegan diet includes only food and drinks that come from plant-based sources, such as vegetables, fruit, and grains.

But there are many people who still wonder if they can eat vegan food safely. For many years, we have been taught that meat is healthy and vegetables are not – but this is not true at all. Vegetables provide more vitamins and nutrients than most meats do.

Ms. Palak Mehta is the founder and CEO of Vegan First which is India's leading vegan publication and solution space. It is an active enabler of the plant-based ecosystem in India which provides alternatives to the everyday conscious consumer - a transitioning vegan, flexitarian, or curious non-vegan. She also represents the Indian chapter of the World Vegan Organisation(WVO), which is a global body of vegan-friendly thought leaders and industry experts.
