Public Health Alert Concerning Recalled Everest and Maggi Brand Spices

Spice exports from India crossed US $ 4 billion in the year 21-22 and they come quite close to Basmati. Yet, our control on process and handling of the product are far from acceptable. In our earlier article Food Safety: A tool for export promotion we had talked about the unprecedented numbers of import refusal that Indian products face and we had presented the data at the Spice Board conference as well, but this incident is a proof that not much has changed. We hope our manufacturers upgrade themselves for their own sake as well as for the sake of the reputation.

You can also read our earlier article on Food Safety: A Microbial Perspective that talked about methods to minimize contamination during processing. We have helped several exporters deal with the issue of microbial contamination in their products and if you would like help with the same, you can email us at info@foodsafetyworks.com
