Safety with Divinity
Language: English
Instructors: Food Safety Works
Why this course?
Hygienic food is essential in all walks of life and if it is being served at a place of worship, it is all the more important since it is considered pure and sacred. FSSAI introduced the BHOG (Blissful Hygienic Offering to God) initiative to encourage Places of Worship (PoW) to adopt and maintain food safety and hygiene while preparing prasad/food and includes training the food handlers and vendors in and around the premises of the PoW.
However, a lot needs to be done. So we thought we would kick start the discussion. Talking about it we have a knowledgeable panel consisting of all the important stakeholders. Below is a brief profile of the panelists.
Mr. P. Muthumaran is the regional director of FSSAI based out of Chennai. He has been instrumental in popularizing the BHOG program in the region.
Pradeepta Narasimha Dasa is a senior manager for food at ISKCON, based out of Bangalore. He is responsible for implementing the food safety and hygiene process for the temple.
Dr Shashikanth Kunigal is a Principal Consultant at Food Safety Works and has conducted multiple trainings for the temples across Karnataka.
We also want to take this opportunity to launching our crowd funded “Safety with Divinity” program where we want to train the food handlers in the PoW and also provide them with a starter kit.
The panel will be moderated by Govind Valiathan , Head of Learning Solutions, Food Safety Works.
